This is the age of the computers. Wherever we turn, we see that a computer is present. This might not be true in the physical sense but the point that must be taken into mind is that computers seem to have a role in every aspect of our lives. From banking to shopping to selling, everything in the world today can be done with the click of a mouse. This might be a boon to some whereas for some others it might be seen as a bane. Whatever the argument is, no one can deny the fact that the computers have made our life very simple and easy and this is mostly due to networking.

Earlier, when people had to book railway or air tickets, they were required to go to the railway station or airport to do so. But now, tickets to go to any corner of the world can be booked from the comfort of one's home. This is the change that computers have brought into our life. However, it is important to remember that a standalone computer might not be able to perform a lot of things that might make our life easier. A computer needs to be connected to a network, or to the Internet, so that it can interact with other computers and do many more functions. So good networking is very essential to be able to interact with other computers.

The world is becoming a very small place to live in as already mentioned. The number of multinationals in the world today is increasing at a very rapid pace. Companies have branches in different corners of the world. To coordinate what is happening in every branch, networking is very important. Even in a particular branch, all the computers will be interconnected so that they form a network. This is very important as it makes it easy for people to interact with each other and share ideas and proposals. networking also helps in saving a lot of time as one can get the view of others without having to go to them personally. Everything is just a click away thanks to the computer and office network in particular.

It is a very fast paced world and most often people do not find time for entertainment. They are expected to work even on holidays. This denies them from spending time with their friends and family. Here again, networking can play an important role as it is now possible to work from home. In many companies, the employees are allowed to work from the comfort of their homes. All they have to do is make sure their work is done on time. This is made possible through office network. Also the work has to be sent in to the person concerned through the Internet and the network.

In almost all companies, all the computers are connected to form a network. As already mentioned, forming a network has several advantages. It is not possible to provide a printer for every computer in an office. By connecting all the computers in a network, the number of printers that is necessary comes down drastically. All the computers that are present in a network can be connected to a single printer. This is again one of the main reasons why office network is implemented in almost every organization.
